PowerPong is a remake of the original computer game Pong. For those not familiar with the game, each player controls a paddle which may move up and down. A ball is launched from the center of the playfield and the object is to bounce the ball past your opponent's paddle. The first person to reach 15 points wins. PowerPong adds a small twist to the game. If the ball bounces off the end of the paddle, the ball will rebound in a random direction, increasing in speed as well.
Instructions
To play PowerPong, simply choose the options desired from the main menu and then click on the Begin Game button to start. To control the paddle, the following keys are used:
PLAYER 1
up -- Shift
down -- Option
fast -- Space
PLAYER 2
up -- Up Arrow
down -- Down Arrow
fast -- Left Arrow
MISCELLANEOUS
pause -- p
end game -- Escape
quit -- Command Q
The fast key will make the paddle move much faster, but is harder to precisely position the paddle in order catch the ball on the end. In addition, on the main menu, the following keys may be used to select items, corresponding to the first letter of the item name:
b -- Begin Game
a -- About PowerPong
q -- Quit
o -- Opponent
s -- Sound On/Off
m -- Music On/Off
Space -- Toggle menu bar
Known Problems
Unfortunately the keys assignments cannot be changed. This is due to a hardware limitation that only two keys plus modifiers (shift, option, control, command) can be detected at one time. If these keys are a problem, please let me know and I will try to provide an acceptable solution.
